About

Istanbul → UK, thinking out loud

Hello, I'm Berk

I'm a medical graduate from Turkey who now calls UK home. After years of studying medicine, I found myself drawn to a different kind of exploration—the kind that happens in books, in conversations, and in the quiet moments between thoughts.

These days, I'm not working in the traditional sense. Instead, I spend my time reading, writing, and thinking about everything from philosophy to technology, from anthropology to the latest news. It's a luxury I don't take for granted.

"A man is a man because he is free to do evil or good, to be a wolf or a sheep."

— Sabahattin Ali

What I Write About

I don't believe in boundaries when it comes to ideas. You might find me writing about:

  • 🏥 Observations about life
  • 💻 Technology, philosophy, and everything in between - no topic is off-limits
  • 🚶 Random thoughts while walking

Currently Reading

I'm always in the middle of several books. Right now it's a mix of Cortázar's short stories, some essays on narrative psychoanalysis, and whatever catches my eye in the local bookshop.

The Personal Stuff

I'm married to a wonderful woman who happens to be a psychiatrist and was two years ahead of me in medical school. She keeps me grounded when my thoughts get too abstract, and I like to think I bring some levity to her clinical world.

This website is my attempt to create a space where I can think out loud, share what I'm learning, and maybe connect with others who find themselves similarly curious about the world.

Current Focus

Reading, writing, thinking

Literary Influences

Sabahattin Ali, Kafka, Cortázar
